Heating with air conditioning up to 50% cheaper

Air conditioning vs gas

Heating with an air conditioner is an economical and energy-efficient way to add extra comfort to your home or business premises. An air conditioner is ideal for heating rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms, offices or workplaces. Heating with air conditioning can be up to 50 per cent cheaper than heating with gas.

A major advantage is that you can quickly and specifically heat one specific room, instead of - as with a central heating system - the entire building. This avoids unnecessary heating costs in unused rooms and directly saves on your energy bill. You heat exactly where and when it is needed.

An air conditioning heater works on electricity and always with an outdoor unit. This ensures reliable performance even at lower outdoor temperatures. With rising gas prices and the growing need to become more sustainable, an aircon heater is a smart choice, both financially and environmentally. In addition, a modern air conditioner with heating offers not only heat but also cooling, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable indoor climate all year round.

Thanks to the latest technologies, air conditioners with heating function are very energy-efficient and efficient. This results in lower energy costs.

Efficient heating with heat pump technology

All new air-conditioning systems today are equipped with a heating mode that works on the efficient principle of a heat pump. This makes an air conditioner ideal not only for cooling during hot summer days, but also for energy-efficient heating in winter.

Thanks to this technology, the air conditioner extracts heat from the outside air and distributes it throughout your home, even at low outside temperatures. This provides an efficient and eco-friendly way to keep your home comfortable all year round. With a air-conditioning with heating function you invest in a smart, sustainable solution that ensures optimal comfort in every season.

What are the advantages of heating with air conditioning?

    1. Energy-efficient
Due to heat pump technology, an air conditioner uses much less energy than traditional heating systems. For every unit of power, it provides several units of heat.
    2. Heating only where necessary
An air conditioner only heats the room in which it hangs. This way, you do not waste energy on rooms that are not used and avoid unnecessary costs.
    3. Less dependent on gas
By heating (partly) with air conditioning, you use less gas. This makes you less dependent on fluctuating gas prices and increases your energy security.
    4. Environmentally friendly
Because an air conditioner extracts heat from the outside air, the system emits less COâ‚‚ than gas or oil heating. This makes it a more sustainable choice.
    5. Space and cost-saving
One unit can both cool and heat. So you don't need separate systems for different seasons.
    6. Fast and comfortable
An air conditioner heats rooms quickly and ensures a pleasant indoor climate, regardless of the outside temperature.

Which installation suits you?

Choosing an air conditioner depends on your situation and preferences. Nowadays, every air conditioner can cool as well as heat, so it is mainly about what you like and what fits best in your space. Do you prefer a wall model or a floor model? And is one outdoor unit sufficient, or is installing two outdoor units more practical in your situation? We will gladly think along with you and advise you on the best solution for your home or business.

What will you save with air conditioning heating?

The savings from heating with air conditioning depend mainly on energy prices. With a central heating boiler, 1 m³ of gas provides about 9.7 kW of heat; for the example, we round this up to 10 kW.

An air conditioner needs about 2.0 to 2.5 kW of electricity for the same 10 kW of heat, depending on the S.C.O.P. value of the system. In the example, we calculate with 2.25 kW.

Comparison:

  • 10 kW heat via central heating = cost of 1 m³ gas
  • 10 kW heat via air conditioning = cost of 2.25 kW electricity

Example (average rates November 2025):

  • Gas: € 1.17 per m³
  • Electricity: €0.28 per kWh

Costs:

  • CV: €1.17
  • Air conditioning: €0.63

Heating with air conditioning is faster and allows you to heat only the rooms that are being used. This ensures lower energy consumption and higher efficiency.

Capacity

The required heating capacity per square metre (m²) depends on several factors, including insulation, window area, and the desired comfort level. A general guideline for heating capacity per m² is:.

Year of construction              Heating capacity per m2

2000 to 2011 90 Watt

2011 to 2018 70 watts

2018 to present 50 Watts
